When I work with the nude in the mid- to close range, I am watching on high alert for a sudden intuitive sense of “rightness” that can show up within the boundaries of the frame. It’s a wonderful, all-encompassing challenge because every body is different, the light wants to be finely customized, and the slightest movement can bring about an expressiveness that must be instantly recognized, responded to and captured. In this way I am honoring and celebrating each human who forms a partnership with me in this dance.
